Stuart Hunt & Associates has an immediate opening for the
following position:
Radiation Safety Technician
Position Summary:
To
perform a variety of tasks involving the servicing and handling
of industrial radiation devices, radiation surveys, leak test
sample collection from radiation devices, and the storage of radioactive
materials at the St. Albert facility. Secondary tasks may
include assisting with the calibration of radiation detection
equipment. Key
Responsibilities:
- Installation and
removal of industrial radiation devices at client
facilities.
- Servicing of radiation
devices.
- Dismantling of radiation devices for
radioactive source disposal.
- Conducting radiation and contamination
surveys as the need arises.
- Assisting with the calibration of
hand-held radiation detection equipment.
- Miscellaneous tasks as
assigned.
The ability to travel is a
requirement for this position.
This position will involve the
classification of Nuclear Energy Worker.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge in the use and application
of technical procedures.
- Strong mechanical skills and
experience working with hand tools.
- Fundamental communication skills are
required to convey routine information and interact with
clients.
Prior industrial experience
and knowledge in the use and application of MS Office software is an asset. Good physical fitness is an
asset as the position will require the handling and lifting of heavy instruments
and equipment. Training on all necessary technical and radiation
safety skills shall be provided.
This is a full-time position,
Monday to Friday.
