The design and operating principles of a portable nuclear gauge 3. The biological effects of radiation 4. Radiation protection strategies 5. Canada's regulatory framework 6. Transporting radioactive material 7. Emergency response and reporting requirements Course Length Students complete the course at their own pace, however the course must be finished within 35 days from the start date of the course.  It is estimated that 6 to 8 hours would be necessary to finish the course.  Students that do not complete the course within the allotted time will be assigned a failing mark for the course.  Students who fail the course may retake the course again by purchasing a new course. The RSO may request the capability to access the system to monitor student progress and receive training records.
