Course Content
1. Understanding radiation
and radioactivity
2. The design and operating principles of a
portable nuclear gauge
3. The biological effects of radiation
4. Radiation protection strategies
5. Canada's regulatory framework
6. Transporting radioactive material
7. Emergency response and reporting requirements
Course Length
Students complete the course at their own pace,
however the course must be finished within 35
days from the start date of the course.
It is estimated that 6 to 8 hours would be
necessary to finish the course. Students
that do not complete the course within the
allotted time will be assigned a failing mark
for the course. Students who fail the
course may retake the course again by purchasing
a new course.

Information and Training Records
Students will
receive the necessary login information and
instructions on how to access the content via
the supplied e-mail address. Upon
successfully completing the course, the student
and RSO (or other provided contact) will be
e-mailed with the course certificate. The
TDG certificate of training will be provided via
mail by Stuart Hunt & Associates upon
confirmation of the course mark.
The RSO may
request the capability to access the system to
monitor student progress and receive training
records.
