Echo Ultrasonics EchoTherm Extreme™

EchoTherm Extreme™ is an ultra-high temperature ultrasonic couplant engineered for the most demanding ultrasonic thickness and corrosion inspections. It has no minimum operating temperature limit and delivers reliable performance from below -40°F/C to above 1250°F (675°C), with an auto-ignition temperature and flash point above 1300°F for enhanced safety in high-temperature environments.

Formulated as a high-viscosity paste, EchoTherm Extreme adheres securely to the transducer, providing an instantaneous ultrasonic response without relying on plastics or polymers that must melt to transmit sound. This instant response enhances testing efficiency and reduces the time transducers are exposed to extreme heat.

EchoTherm Extreme features high acoustic impedance, optimizing sound transmission while reducing surface acoustic noise. It does not contain Teflon and is not expected to cause polymer plume fever. Designed with safety in mind, it minimizes personnel risk by eliminating unanticipated auto-ignition events commonly associated with other high-temperature couplants.

The product leaves no residue after inspection, and due to its low mass usage, slow thermal decomposition rate, and typical field ventilation, vaporized byproducts are not anticipated to pose a health hazard. EchoTherm Extreme is particularly well-suited for port inspections and other high-temperature industrial applications where safety, performance, and reliability are critical.
